The Season of Gratitude

Today marks the first day of fall. I don’t know about you but I am totally psyched! I think fall might be my favorite time of year. hmmm,,,, What do I love about fall?

It’s Harvest Season

Fall is full of gorgeous hues and I am not just talking about the beautiful leaves that fall from the trees. I am talking about the beautiful squash, carrots, sweet potato, kale, string beans, avocados, bananas and so much more. It’s the season of harvest. Pretty soon the aroma of warm apple pie and roasted turkey will fill the kitchen (and our bellies).

The delicacies of fall are wrapped up in fresh herbs and local produce found at your local farmers market or if you’ve got a green thumb, in your personal garden.

Food

Of course you know food was on the list. With so many opportunities during the fall to gather with friends and family, the foods of fall will surely be the center of attention. Pumpkin pie and sweet treats for halloween, sweet potato pudding on guy Fawkes day, roasted turkey and brown gravy for thanksgiving and cassava pie and honey glazed ham for Christmas. Is your mouth watering for a taste of fall yet? Mines sure is.

Fall Home Decor

Time to break out all of your beautiful cozy fall decor. Throws, pillows and all the lovely table decor. Fall decor has a special place in my heart. I LOVE all the warm earth tones of fall, so calming and relaxing. Accessorize with the colours of fall using, vases, lanterns, throws, pillows, candles, trivets, shrubbery and more. Don’t be afraid to stray away from the traditional oranges, reds and golds of the season, instead add a touch of your own style.

Sharing

I can’t wait to share my delicious fall recipes with you. As we embrace the pleasant offerings of the season, let this also be a season of gratitude!
